When it comes to reaching for higher heights some times the thought of failing and falling short of what is expected or what we desire, prevents us from taking that next step. What one person deems impossible another regards as a challenge. There are things in life that we must do and things in life that we want to do. We have the freedom of choice. Even with the choices we make there are a series of events in our life that are inevitable and necessary. If the things we reach for are necessary, then they are possible.

Life takes us around and around in circles. There is never an ending process to happy times, victories, sad times, trials, and tribulations. We are forever evolving, growing, and learning from each day and each reaction to an action. When one thing stops another begins. That’s all life is about, endings and beginnings. You never cease to go around and around. When one chapter in our lives ends, another begins.
“All endings are also beginnings. We just don’t know it at the time” ~ Mitch Albom.

Some times as human beings we are very hard on ourselves when it comes to being successful. I don’t think I’ve met anyone who chose to be a failure in life. However, our measurements to what success is can be both overbearing and at times a little superficial. We measure success by having reached the final point on the journey, accomplishing the ultimate mark. You don’t want to dismiss all of the steps and obstacles you’ve overcome to get to that final point, because each time you progress to the next step that brings you closer to your ultimate goal, you are indeed being successful.

In life we all have natural talents and skills that we use to make a living and build a life. However, one of the most skillful talents you have may be one you are not passionate about. Here are 7 reasons why knowing and living your passion is important.
1. It Builds Confidence - when you're passionate about something you're confident in doing it and carrying out tasks associated with it. If you fail, you're ready to get back up and go at it again. Passion gives a natural level of confidence to and about the thing it's associated with.
2. You Never Stop Growing- passion encourages you to learn and gain knowledge in a specific thing. The desire to gather all the information you can about what your passionate about is inevitable. You never stop growing in your area of passion.

"For a chance at success, you need to have the courage to face potential failure." A line in Douglas Barr's film Taking A Chance On Love
This line was one of those statements that immediately had me pondering and racing with thoughts. Now, clearly, I enjoy watching the Hallmark Channel but as I mentioned before, I tend to draw inspiration from many things. So needless to say, after I gathered my thoughts, I was able to pull insight from the statement.
Everyone wants to be successful and desires a life where they are financially stable, established in their career, and has a healthy & loving marriage. We all just want to be happy.

The first month of 2010 has come and gone. We are still in the beginning of the year but our behaviors and follow through in the first 31 days played a huge part in how our year will conclude. The dedication and seriousness we took in fulfilling our goals, desires, and or even resolutions for the year shows in the actions we took in those first 31 days. If you don’t take the time out to measure your progress how will you know if you are on track to succeeding in what it is that you set out to accomplish. Before you do that, you must first have a clear understanding of your measurements and what processes didn’t work before.
In 2009 we all have decision
s that we made but were wrong, actions taken that should have been avoided, and individuals we associated with that needed to not be apart of our lives. Throughout our journey in life we must learn from all that we do. We are all familiar with the statement “doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results is insanity”. The statement is true. We can’t expect to change the outcome of this year or have a better year than last year if we are continuing to do the same “wrong” things. Some of us may feel we had a good year last year, why would I change what I did? If you had a good year last year, don’t change your behaviors, continue to be discipline and just upgrade them to have an even better year. Remember, growth and increase is important.

“It’s not lonely at the top…IF YOU HELP SOMEBODY GET THERE" Rev Run Wisdom
Quotes
When an individual reaches a visible level of success in the eyes of the public, we say “they’ve made it”. Levels of success are sometimes measured to ones own accountability. However, there does seem to be an undefined, somewhat immeasurable, state of success that clarifies “making it to the top”. When it happens, you will know it and so will others. But making it to the top doesn’t denote you are done in life; nor does it signify that you’ve fulfilled your purpose. When you reach the top, you still have to take the lid off so the bright light of success can shine and encourage someone else to make it there as well.

I used to say the statement “it only takes one” without fully understanding the power of “one”. Some times we say things and don’t really understand the meaning or capture the revelation of it until we have experience something that relates to it. Knowledge is in fact power, but knowledge is also learned experiences.
I came to understand the power of this statement a week ago when I experienced a woman at a homeless shelter where I facilitate adult training give me a typed thank you letter. It was completely unexpected. The smile on my face, the joy in my spirit, and the love in my heart was overwhelming even for me. She was the “only” adult who decided to commit to training in the entire shelter and attended every class faithfully and on time.

There are times in our life when we sit in the valley and not on top of the mountain. But I've been told it's when you’re in the valley that ideas and visions are conceived and a plan of manifestation is birth. It is during this time we experience growth, discipline, and gain perspective.
We all know that seasons come and seasons go. They always come back around, it's just the matter of when. Sometimes as we wait for our season we find ourselves lost in the wilderness. It's a point in time where we are lost without any sense of direction. It's a place in time where our seeds bear no harvest. It's a state of being where we seem to have no control. However, the wilderness is also a natural environment and the most "intact" areas on our planet.

So the other night I was watching a rerun of one of my faaaavorite TV Shows, the original NCIS. Toni A.K.A Dinozzo made a statement that made me think, he said "if you don't have a target, you could never miss". I thought about that for a minute, and you know what, I agree with him.
In life we are always told to set goals for ourselves. These goals could be short term, long term, financial, educational, etc. We set these goals and then proceed with the intent to execute them and bring them into fruition. Our goals a become a target for success, success at different levels in our lives. As we aim to reach these goals, we are constantly aiming at our target, with the desire to hit a bullseye.

This statement immediately impressed me. When someone you know or know of gets a promotion, starts that new business, makes that magazine spread, or reaches a point in their life where they are seen as "extra"ordinary are you genuinely happy for them? Do you truly wish the best for them? Or are you secretly bitter because it's not you or that they reached a place of success before you did?

When I read this passage I immediately paused, read it again, and then allowed it to sink in and marinate into my character. When we get the feeling that there is something more, it can be done better, or you're missing a sense of satisfaction, we tend to go out and do better for "ourselves". There is nothing wrong with that. But when we get to a point where we do better for ourselves and exemplify the compassion to see others do better as well while exuding a sense of morals that are respected by all kind, we then reach a peak of both mental and moral success.
