There has been a time when I’ve seen someone walk into a room and gave a smile that lighted the entire room. That same smile makes me smile on the inside. It’s a contagious joy and peace that infiltrates your body and spirit. The energy and positive vibe you get from that smile says a lot and does a lot. It grabs the attention of almost everyone in the room.
Your smile silently speaks for what’s going on inside of you. It’s a tell tale of your emotions. When you are happy, content, excited, loved, or loving, your smile communicates all of this. I often said in the past, that when you smile you are not only smiling for yourself but for others as well. We smile for two reasons; it’s a natural reaction to our own disposition or it’s a reaction to someone else’s disposition. Either way, the beauty of a smile is that it’s contagious in its emotions.
Even in times of distressed and turmoil, just smiling can make you feel better. A smile alone will give you at least a moment of happiness. When you are feeling down, it’s in a smile where you can find the courage and or desire to get up. When you are feeling discouraged, it’s a smile that initiates motivation. Even if you choose not to smile for yourself, do it for someone else. You never know whose day or even week you can change by the existence of “your” smile.
We often underestimate the little things in life. A smile is one of those little things. Don’t underestimate the power and beauty of it. You would be surprise to know how many strangers and random people you pass by or come into contact with are affected and react to you because of the spark of your smile. So go ahead, smile. I love to smile. It’s a valuable tool.
