Great post! I've struggled with being a perfectionist (I still do at times), and it is overwhelming.

"Measure your definition to your works and don't allow another's definition to define the object of your pursuit."

^I really like that part. I'll definitely have to keep that on mind. : )

I'm definitely pursuing excellence, but ur post solidified the fact that I am indeed a perfectionist. with ur example of the two women...i myself want to be both of them. the perfect wife & mother AND the woman that has corporate america wrapped around her pretty little finger! haha! however I only thing of myself as a perfectionist in the sense that i go above & beyond;i give 110% into everything that I do. it doesn't overwhelm me. it motivates me. it doesn't haunt me. it inspires me to get up & go, even when i feel like i can't or shouldn't.

I agree that u should formulate ur own life definition of your greatness, that is not for others to do. but i also feel that perfectionism can be a positive thing as long as it doesn't consume u or have a negative effect on others!

great post! :)
